My Approach
Mission
​
Blessing in the Storm LLC is a telehealth mental health service provider for individuals and couples seeking healing to combat suicidal ideation and self harm. BitS does this through Narrative Therapy interventions from a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. BitS aspires to reduce stigma of mental health services for BIPOC communities through counseling and advocacy work that shows people they have other choices rather than ending their life through suicide, alternatively we will work to begin to find a different way to live.
The storm represents the metaphor of traumas, trials, dilemmas, transitions, and barriers that impact a client's quality of life. Blessings are the inner resources of positive beliefs, strengths, skills, gifts, abilities, wisdom, ancestry, faith, values, confidence and expertise that are within waiting to be accessed.

Alyson Davis practices as a non-denominational Christian and respects all belief systems and identities within the therapeutic space. Although she doesn't specialize as a trained Christian counselor, Alyson values and honors diversity, welcoming individuals of all faiths and backgrounds.

​Stages of Treatment "The Overcomers Journey" ​
Co-authoring the journey: Rapport building and working together to deconstruct the problem saturated narrative created by dominant stories.​
The unraveling journey: Finding plot holes, unique outcomes, externalize the problem outside of the self, and increasing awareness apart from the problem.
Finding a new road: Re-telling the story with the preferred narrative.
